Violations

What this screen is for

Violations is the safety officer's log of driving events that broke a rule, such as speeding or harsh braking, and a scoreboard that turns those events into a score for each driver. Use it to see what happened today, mark events as reviewed, and decide which drivers need coaching.

Who can see it

Organisation staff signed in to the Control Tower. This screen does not have a separate permission of its own.

Where to find it

In the left-hand menu, under SAFETY & COMPLIANCE, select Violations.

What you see

Two tabs at the top: Daily log (with the number of events) and Driver scoreboard. On the Daily log tab there is also an Export CSV button.

Daily log tab

Category tiles. One tile per type of event, each with today's count and a comparison with the 14-day average (up, down or about the same). The types are Overspeed, Harsh Brake, Harsh Acceleration, Harsh Cornering, Geofence Exit, Continuous Driving and Route Deviation. Geofence Exit tiles are tinted red, because leaving an authorised zone is something you should never have to hunt for. Select a tile to filter the log to that type; select it again to clear.

Filter chips.

  • high, medium, low – severity, each with its count.
  • Unreviewed only – events nobody has marked as reviewed.
  • Clear filters – appears once any filter is on.

The log. Columns: TIME, VEHICLE, DRIVER, TYPE, DETAIL, ZONE, SEVERITY and a tick column. Severity chips are High, Medium or Low and are worked out by the system from how far the measured value went past the limit; nobody can type one in. In the last column a green tick means the event has been reviewed (hover to see by whom); a grey tick means it has not.

Driver scoreboard tab

Choose This week or This month. The date range is shown, and scores are normalised per 100 hours driven so that a driver who drives more is not unfairly penalised. Columns: DRIVER, DEPOT, HIGH, MED, LOW, HOURS, RATE /100H and SCORE.

The score is 100 minus the weighted events per 100 hours, where a high event counts 10, a medium event 4 and a low event 1.5. The bar is green for a score of 85 or more (good), amber from 70 (watch) and red below 70 (needs coaching). A driver with fewer than 8 hours driven in the period shows "under 8 h - not rated" instead of a score, because a score from a few hours would look precise and mean little.

What you can do

  • Narrow the log. Select a tile, a severity chip or Unreviewed only. The filters combine.
  • Mark an event as reviewed. Select the grey tick on its row. It turns green. Reviewing does not remove the event; it still counts on the scoreboard.
  • Export what you see. Select Export CSV. The file contains only the events that match the filters currently on screen, so narrowing to one driver does not put the whole fleet's record in your spreadsheet.
  • Switch to the scoreboard and pick the period.

Popups and panels

This screen has no popups.

Tips

  • A driver has no score. They have not driven 8 hours in the chosen period.
  • A tick was marked by mistake. The screen has no way to undo a review.
  • The count on the Daily log tab differs from the scoreboard. The log is for the current day; the scoreboard covers a week or a month.
