Safety and compliance¶
What this screen is for¶
Safety and compliance shows the human side of the fleet: how many hours each driver has driven against the legal limit, whether vehicle inspections are up to date, when licences and other qualifications expire, and whether any vehicle has left an authorised zone without a reason. Each headline figure has a table underneath that explains it, so you can see who to act on.
Who can see it¶
Organisation staff signed in to the Control Tower. This screen does not have a separate permission of its own.
Where to find it¶
In the left-hand menu, under SAFETY & COMPLIANCE, select Safety & compliance.
What you see¶
Figure cards (top).
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Compliance rate | The share of drivers with no open finding. Green at 80% or more, amber from 60%, red below. |
| At 10 h or more | Drivers who need immediate action because of the hours they have driven today. |
| Between 9 and 10 h | Drivers to monitor. |
| Inspections overdue | Vehicles whose pre-trip inspection is overdue; the card also says how many are due soon. |
| Unexplained breaches | Zone departures in the last 48 hours that no order accounts for. |
| Violations today | Driving events logged today, all severities. |
| Expiring soon | Licences and qualifications that expire inside the warning window (60 days). |
| Offline vehicles | Vehicles that have sent no position for 15 minutes. |
A note at the foot of the screen restates the rules in force: hours are banded against the daily limit (11 hours), an inspection is valid for 14 days, and expiry warnings start at 60 days.
Three tabs.
Driver compliance¶
One row per driver:
- DRIVER – name, depot and licence class.
- VEHICLE – the vehicle currently assigned.
- HOURS TODAY – a bar and the hours driven out of the daily limit. It is green, amber (9 hours or more) or red (10 hours or more).
- INSPECTION – OK, Due, Overdue or a dash if there is none on record.
- LICENCE – days left, or "Expired ... d ago" in red. Amber at 60 days or fewer.
- NIGHT – Yes or No: whether the driver is qualified for night driving.
- RISK – Low, Medium or High, with the reason underneath. The risk is the worst of all the checks, not an average. For example an expired licence makes the driver High even if everything else is fine.
Select Findings only (top right of this tab) to hide drivers at Low risk.
Zone breaches¶
Every time a vehicle left a zone in the last 48 hours: TIME, VEHICLE, DRIVER (or "Unattributed"), ZONE DEPARTED, ORDER and EXPLANATION. Rows with no explanation are tinted red and counted on the tab and on the Unexplained breaches card.
Expiring qualifications¶
Every licence or qualification due to expire, most urgent first: DRIVER, DEPOT, QUALIFICATION, EXPIRES and REMAINING. Amber at 30 days or fewer, red once expired.
What you can do¶
- Switch tabs, and use Findings only to concentrate on drivers who need attention.
- Open the order behind a zone breach by selecting its order number.
This screen is for reading and deciding; there are no buttons to change data. Licence dates come from each driver's Driving License document, so to fix one, correct or add that document under Documents in Fleet and drivers.
Popups and panels¶
This screen has no popups.

Tips¶
- Blocked dispatch. Overdue inspections, expired licences and drivers at the hours limit block a dispatch. A supervisor can release a blocked dispatch by giving a written justification; the override is kept against the order and in the audit log.
- A driver is High risk and you do not see why. Read the line under the risk chip; it names the cause.
- Compliance rate is low. It counts every driver with any finding, including medium ones such as a licence due to expire in 45 days.
