What's new¶
A dated log of changes you can see, newest first.
21 October 2026¶
-
Depots no longer have a status. The depot form, the depot details and the Depots list in Fleet & drivers no longer show Active or Inactive. A depot stays in your list until you delete it, and the pickers that offer depots now list all of them.
-
One name for your sites: facility. The guide and the Master data loading message now call one of your own sites a facility everywhere, matching the Facilities tab. Nothing you can do has changed.
-
Drivers: one record for the Fleet form and the Driver app. The driver editor in Fleet & drivers now holds the same details as Your details in the Driver app: first, middle and last name, preferred name, gender, nationality, emergency contact, app language, country of residence and a full address. The driver's full name is built from the name parts. Two drivers can share a name, but not a Driver ID. See Fleet and drivers.
-
A driver's licence is a document. The licence number, type and issue date are no longer on the driver's details; add a Driving License under Documents instead, and the licence expiry follows it. A driver with no licence on file cannot be planned onto a route. See Fleet and drivers.
-
Driver documents are shared with the Driver app. New document types National ID, Work Permit and Driver Permit; Medical and Training Certificate are no longer offered. A rejection now needs a Rejection reason the driver can see, and a renewal becomes a new version.
-
Country, language and gender lists come from the system. Nationality, Country of residence and Issuing country list the countries your organisation operates in, App language lists the world's languages, and Gender is Male or Female.
-
Sign in as a driver is gone. The browser preview of the Driver app is retired; drivers use the mobile app, and the Driver app account field on the driver editor is removed with it.
-
Notification settings open in the bell's list. Selecting the settings icon (a gear) now shows your settings in the small list under the bell instead of opening the larger window. A back arrow returns you to your notifications, and the expand button still opens the larger window. See Your notification settings.
-
Channels are now buttons in a row. On the Settings tab of the notifications window, In-app, Email and Push are a row of buttons instead of switches. A selected channel is green, and you can select more than one. See Your notification settings.
-
Switch any notification on or off. The Settings tab of the notifications window now lists every kind of notification you can receive, grouped under Orders, Delivery windows, Documents, Billing and Alerts, not only the three order switches. See Your notification settings.
-
A simpler notifications window. In the Control Tower and the Customer Portal, the larger notifications window no longer has a help icon, and notifications no longer show a coloured dot in front of their title. Unread notifications are still marked by a green dot on the right and a bold title. See Notifications.
-
The Overview screen opens again. In the Control Tower, the Overview screen went blank whenever an open exception was not an SLA breach. It now shows every exception with its severity.
18 October 2026¶
-
Pickers offer only people and places still in use. The depot, customer, driver, vehicle, facility and dock lists you choose from are now loaded on their own, so they open faster. A depot, customer or driver that has been made inactive is no longer offered for new choices; when you edit a record that already uses one, it stays in the list so nothing changes by surprise. A new vehicle, driver, dock or piece of equipment still starts with the first depot, facility or dock selected.
-
Reset a person's password from the Users list. In both the Control Tower and the Customer Portal, Reset password on a person's row emails them a link to choose a new password, the same link Forgot password? sends. It is offered for active people who have accepted their invitation or were created directly. See Users and Customer Portal users.
16 October 2026¶
-
One notification list in the Customer Portal. Order submissions, delivery-window decisions and documents that are ready now appear in the same bell as every other notification, and each person has their own list. Reading a notification clears it for you only, not for your colleagues. Notifications that were in the old customer-wide list are not carried over. See Notifications.
-
The two sign-in screens now say who they are for. The Control Tower sign-in is headed Control Tower sign-in and is for GWC operations staff; the Customer Portal sign-in is headed Customer Portal sign-in and is for GWC's customers. Each button names where it takes you, and each screen points to the other if you are in the wrong place.
-
Customer Portal always signs in through your organization's login. There is no demo entry any more: enter your organization ID, sign in, then choose the customer to work on. If the portal says sign-in is not configured, contact your administrator.
-
A new customer's people can sign in to the Customer Portal straight away. When you add a customer with an administrator, or invite someone to a customer, they are given access to that customer automatically; there is nothing more to set up per customer.
-
The Equipment (MHE) list on Master data loads again. In the Customer Portal, the Equipment tab, equipment availability and the availability and delete actions on facilities and docks now work; they had stopped responding after an internal change.
-
Master data no longer goes blank for some facility types. A facility of type Factory, Port or Other made the whole Master data screen go blank. Every facility type now shows correctly.
-
Adding a customer works again. Choosing Individual or Company as the customer type in the customer form was rejected when you saved; both choices now save correctly.
15 October 2026¶
-
A second built-in role, Basic User Access. Every organization and every customer now has two fixed roles: Administrator (everything) and Basic User Access (view only). Neither can be edited, and both keep up with new permissions automatically. See Roles and permissions.
-
The User Guide launched. It covers the Control Tower, Customer Portal, Admin portal and Driver app, with task-led Topics, a Reference section and a Glossary.
- A help icon on every screen. Every screen and popup now has a round ? icon. Select it and the guide opens in a new tab at that screen or popup. See Using the help icon.
